How we started.

[Psa 127:1 KJV] Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.

Hello, my name is Kevin Walding of Rally for Jesus, overseeing a ministry born through prayer and seeking the Lord’s will.

After growing in grace and knowledge from July of 1991 till October of 2013, with Chuck Smith a faithful and beloved overseer/pastor at Calvay Chapel, I continued to seek the Lord into what direction He wanted to lead me, such as being a part of another ministry or to start something fresh. The ministry vision first began in 2009 after returning from a trip to Israel. I knew I needed to hear from the Lord regarding what the Lord wanted, a ministry that was led of His Holy Spirit rather than just an effort on my part to start another work. “Except the Lord build the house they labor in vain that build it”.

I did not want to be part of anything man centered as I had learned from Chuck Smith, who was led of the Holy Spirit to start the Calvary Chapel movement. I remembered staying up late and asking the Lord to direct me about his perfect will on this issue of starting a new ministry. I knew if this was something of the Lord it would follow the scripture with the Holy Spirit’s leading in pointing to and lifting up the name of Jesus. Jesus said in [Jhn 12:32 KJV] And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto Me. I also thought about a verse my sweet wife from the Lord had given me years ago before we were married. She had underlined the following verse in my bible. Psalm 20:4-7 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up [our] banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

As I was pondering these things, with my focus on the Name of Jesus and as it is written, “in the name of our God we will set up [our] banners”, I went online to a Word for Today bible study I had downloaded for my mother to listen to by Chuck Smith. I opened that study and scrolled forward at random right to the exact spot where Chuck was speaking about the Lord as our banner. The passage was found in [Exo 17:15 KJV] And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:

I felt a claming peace and knew this was of THE LORD. As a result, I decided to put the name, Jehovahnissi meaning, the Lord is our banner right on the ministry logo. The vision was to contine to lift up His name, for His glory and not to promote a brand or build on anything man centered but to minister with like minded Spirit filled believers in His body, the church, who simply want to follow Jesus together. To obey what Jesus said in His Word and in his name by the power of the Holy Spirit.

[Mat 4:19 KJV] And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

[Luk 14:21-23 KJV] So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled.

Our desire is to give out the invitations and compel those in our scope of influence speaking the truth in love as the Lord directs us. We pray for those who receive those invitations to accept the Lords offer of forgiveness, eternal life and to know the joy of restored fellowhip with our Creator and the lover of our souls. Jesus the Messiah. King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Vision

Jesus said, in Mat 4:19 ” Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

We are a fellowship of born again believers following Jesus of the scriptures. The word of God. Our foundation is the Word of God and we desire to work together in unity as ambassadors for Christ to fullfill the great commision to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

When Jesus opened the scroll to Isaiah 61:1 he proclaimed, ” The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.” He then closed the book and announced that this day that prophecey was fullfiled. We are his hands and his feet to continue this work through the power of his Holy Spirit. Without him we can do nothing.

In John 4:35 Jesus proclaimed Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. We recognize the Lord uses many ministries as well as individuals to accomplish his work in the harvest field of this world.

The vision the Lord has given Rally for Jesus is to serve and work in unity, in Jesus name, by preaching the gospel through our Rally for Jesus evangelism outreach’s and making disciples through teaching the full council of God’s word in our follow-up bible studies as well as providing releif for the poor with food, clean water and clothing.

God’s Word teaches us that two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour and in Psalm 133 it says, “How good and how pleasent it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” Our desire is to minister together in love and unity with likeminded believers and church’s at our evangelism outreach’s but not with the ecumentical compromise we see in many man centered movements that unfortuntely fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. This would include any ministries that we may have associated with in the past that we agreed with such as Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa or National Association of Christian Ministers but no longer agree with under their current leadership postions such as women taking a leadership or teaching role over men in the church.

We are told in Romans 16:17-18 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. We are to mark and avoid those who cause divisions and offences by taking positions that contradict the doctrinal teaching of the scriptures. We want our love for one another and Christian unity to be genuine and without compromise in our love for the truth of God’s word. Abhoring the evil and cleaving to the good. Jesus said in John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” Genuine love is not marked by false unity that tolerates biblical compromise but love that rejoices in the truth.

In Luke 5:4 Jesus said, “Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.” Then it goes on to say in verse six, “and when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

How we finish?

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Zec 4-6
